Job Title: Fixed Income Trader
Location: Yaba, Lagos State, Nigeria
Job Type: Full Time
Duties:
l Assist in executing buy and sell orders for fixed income securities such as bonds, treasury bills, and corporate debt.
l Monitor and analyze market conditions, interest rates, and economic data to inform trading decisions.
l Execute trades accurately and efficiently using trading platforms and tools.
l Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and other market participants.
l Assist in developing and implementing trading strategies to optimize portfolio performance.
l Maintain accurate records of transactions, positions, and trading activities.
l Provide support in preparing market research and analysis reports for senior management.
l Monitor and manage market risks, liquidity, and exposure in the fixed income portfolio.
l Collaborate with research analysts to gather relevant market information and insights.
l Stay updated on financial news, regulatory changes, and market developments affecting fixed income markets.
l Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal trading policies.
l Assist in evaluating and optimizing trading systems and tools to enhance efficiency.
l Support the team in post-trade analysis and performance evaluation of trading strategies.
l Perform ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by the management.
Requirements:
l Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
l Previous experience in financial markets, trading, or investment analysis is preferred.
l Basic understanding of fixed income markets, financial instruments, and trading strategies.
l Familiarity with trading platforms, financial software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
l Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
l Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
l Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions.
l Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
l Strong organizational and time management abilities.
l Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
l Interest in financial markets and a desire to learn and grow in the field of fixed income trading.
