Job Description:

Assuming responsibility and accountability for a designated clinic or area, utilising a collaborative

approach with team members to ensure patients receive the highest standard of care and service.

The OPD Nurse serves as a liaison, fostering effective communication and collaboration between

physicians, patients, families, interdisciplinary team members, and staff from other departments.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Ensure the readiness and arrangement of the clinic/ assigned area (environment

cleanliness/ supplies) on daily basis.

• Assist Physician in examining the patient.

• Receive calls, clarification and answer as needed.

• Organise the patient flow to and from the clinic.

• Ensure that all required documents are completed (claims/ referral etc.)

• Track patient status and assist as needed.

• Communicate with lab/ radiology and other department as needed.

• Check the vital signs and document as per documentation policy.

• Refer any findings/ observation to the treating doctors immediately.

• Carry-out doctor order as needed in a timely manner.

• Process admission and referral accurately and in timely manner.

• Provide patient/ family education as per their needs.

• Adhere to nursing documentation policy.

• Initiate emergency and resuscitative measures as needed.

• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

• Maintain required mandatory, general and specific competencies as per the approve

competency matrix.

• Adhere to JCIA/ CBAHI Standards

• Attend the departmental education/ training activities.

• Attend the department meetings.

• Comply with infection control principles.

• Adhere to HMG – Nursing Dress Code policy.

• Operate department machine/ equipment.

• Provide supervision and support to the assigned shift whenever assigned as shift in-charge

(team leader) to ensure all delegated tasks and specific assignments assigned by Charge

Nurse are completed on time.

• Participate in person-centred care initiatives undertaken by HMG.

• Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.

• Perform other applicable task and duties assigned by Charge Nurse within the realm of his/

her knowledge, skills and abilities.

Requirements

Education/Professional Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent

3 years General Nursing Diploma

Experience

Minimum 2 years in a hospital

Professional Licensing/Certification/Training

• BLS and relevant Certificates

• Valid Saudi Council & Licensed from Country of origin
