Key Responsibilities:
Project Officer – Disabilities: Duties and Requirements
Duties:
Program Design and Development:
Design and implement programs aimed at promoting the inclusion, empowerment, and rights of individuals with disabilities.
Conduct needs assessments to identify challenges and opportunities for persons with disabilities in target communities.
Project Implementation:
Coordinate and oversee disability-focused projects, ensuring alignment with Share Vision Network's mission and objectives.
Develop work plans, timelines, and budgets for project activities.
Ensure accessibility in all program activities, materials, and venues.
Advocacy and Awareness:
Advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities through community outreach, workshops, and campaigns.
Build awareness about disability rights, inclusion, and accessibility among stakeholders, including community members, government officials, and partner organizations.
Capacity Building:
Provide training for staff, volunteers, and partners on disability-inclusive development approaches.
Collaborate with schools, employers, and community groups to enhance their capacity to support persons with disabilities.
Partnership Development:
Build partnerships with disability-focused organizations, government agencies, and private sector entities.
Collaborate with other departments within Share Vision Network to mainstream disability inclusion in all programs.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E):
Develop indicators and tools to measure the impact of disability-focused projects.
Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and prepare reports on project performance and achievements.
Resource Mobilization:
Assist in fundraising efforts, including drafting proposals and identifying potential donors for disability projects.
Ensure efficient and transparent use of project resources.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with relevant disability laws, policies, and international frameworks such as the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
Prepare and submit progress reports, case studies, and impact assessments to stakeholders.
Requirements:
Educational Qualifications:
A degree in Disability Studies, Social Work, Sociology, Public Health, or a related field.
Additional certifications or training in disability inclusion or rights-based approaches are an advantage.
Experience:
At least 3 years of experience working in disability-focused programs or organizations.
Proven track record of project management, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of disability rights, inclusion principles, and related legal frameworks.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in proposal writing, budget management, and report writing.
Competency in using assistive technologies and tools for communication.

Additional Requirements:
Knowledge of local languages and context is an advantage.
