Research and Development Engineer

Location: Port Harcourt

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Research and Development Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in ICT and Telecomms, with experience in CCTV being an added advantage. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing new products and solutions, as well as improving existing ones.

Key Responsibilities

1. Research and Development
1. Conduct research and development activities to design, develop, and test new products and solutions.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize research and development projects.
3. Develop and maintain technical documentation for research and development projects.
2. Product Development
1. Design, develop, and test new products and solutions, including CCTV systems.
2. Collaborate with the product management team to define product requirements and specifications.
3. Work with the engineering team to develop and test product prototypes.
3. Improvement of Existing Products
1. Analyze existing products and identify areas for improvement.
2. Develop and implement improvements to existing products, including CCTV systems.
3. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure improved products meet quality and reliability standards.
4. Collaboration and Communication
1. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and customer support teams.
2. Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and suppliers.

Requirements

1. Education
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a related field is an added advantage.
2. Experience
1. Minimum 5 years of experience in research and development, product development, or a related field.
2. Experience in ICT and Telecomms is required.
3. Experience in CCTV systems is an added advantage.
3. Skills
1. Strong technical skills in programming languages, such as C++, Java, or Python.
2. Experience with development tools, such as Git, SVN, or Mercurial.
3. Strong understanding of computer networks, protocols, and architectures.
4. Experience with CCTV systems, including IP cameras, video management software, and network infrastructure.
