We are a leading player in the Nigerian oil marketing industry, committed to providing exceptional customer service and high-quality products. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in Lekki, Lagos.
Responsibilities:
– Manage the full accounting cycle for assigned accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed assets.
– Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
– Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial records are maintained in a clean and organized manner.
– Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures.
– Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support management decision-making.
– Assist with tax preparation and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
– Manage and mentor junior accounting staff.
– Maintain strong internal controls and identify potential areas for improvement.
– Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting or a related field.
– Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within the oil marketing industry.
– Proven understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
– Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Membership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) is a strong advantage.
