Job Title: Equity Trader

Location: Yaba, Lagos State, Nigeria

Job Type: Full Time

 

Duties:

l  Execute buy and sell orders for equities on behalf of clients and the firm.

l  Monitor and analyze market trends, stock prices, and economic data to inform trading decisions.

l  Utilize trading platforms and tools to execute trades efficiently and accurately.

l  Develop and implement trading strategies to maximize profitability and manage risk.

l  Maintain and update records of all transactions, positions, and trading activities.

l  Provide clients with market insights, trading advice, and investment recommendations.

l  Manage and optimize the firm’s equity portfolio, ensuring alignment with investment goals.

l  Collaborate with analysts and research teams to gather relevant market information.

l  Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.

l  Monitor and manage market risks, liquidity, and exposure in the equity portfolio.

l  Prepare and present detailed reports on trading performance, market conditions, and portfolio status.

l  Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, exchanges, and other market participants.

l  Stay updated on financial news, market developments, and regulatory changes.

l  Conduct post-trade analysis to evaluate trading strategies and identify areas for improvement.

l  Support the development and implementation of new trading systems and tools.

 

Requirements:

l  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

l  Proven experience as an Equity Trader or in a similar role for at least three (3) years.

l  In-depth knowledge of equity markets, trading strategies, and financial instruments.

l  Proficiency in using trading platforms, financial software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

l  Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.

l  Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

l  Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions.

l  Strong organizational and time management abilities.

l  High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

l  Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards.

l  Track record of achieving and exceeding trading targets.
