Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Toolmaker with expertise in welding jigs and fixtures to join our client’s production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting, adjusting, fault-finding, and maintaining welding jigs in a high-volume production environment.
This role is not for a machinist and does not involve CNC machining or CAD design. Instead, the successful candidate will work hands-on with welding jigs, interpreting component drawings, customer requirements, and CMM reports to ensure accurate adjustments and alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
Set, adjust, and maintain welding jigs for production.
Fault-find and troubleshoot welding jigs, including reading, and interpreting CMM reports to make necessary adjustments.
Perform shimming and alignment of jigs as per manufacturing process requirements.
Work closely with production teams to ensure jigs are correctly set for efficient operations.
Compare component drawings with CMM reports and make necessary modifications.
Ensure all jigs meet quality and accuracy standards for CO2 robotic welding.
Essential Requirements:
Must be a Trade Tested Toolmaker (Red Seal Certification required).
Must have a Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with welding jigs and fixtures in a production environment.
Experience in the automotive industry is essential.
Familiarity with CO2 robotic welding jigs is advantageous
Must be able to interpret technical drawings, CMM reports, and customer requirements.
Must be detail-oriented and precise in jig setup and adjustments.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot quickly.
Reliable and self-motivated, capable of working independently.
Ability to work in a high-paced production environment.
Must provide contactable references from previous employers.
Shift & Work Hours:
Two shifts:
Day shift: Monday to Thursday 07:00 – 17:00, Friday 07:00 – 14:00
Night shift: Monday to Thursday 18:00 – 06:00 (4 nights)
Rotational shifts: 1 week day shift, 1 week night shift
Salary & Benefits:
💰 Hourly rate: Cannot be disclosed at this stage of the process. (Rate is negotiable up to a limit, depending on experience.)
