Overview
The ideal candidate is responsible for driving growth by identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with clients and partners, and executing strategies to expand the company’s market position. Oversees the entire sales process, ensuring targets are met and aligned with long-term goals. Additionally, the role includes managing and mentoring team members to enhance performance and foster a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Opportunity Identification: Conduct market research and analysis to identify new opportunities, trends, and potential markets, and evaluate competitors to spot areas for growth or differentiation.
Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders, engaging with decision-makers to understand their needs and align solutions.
Sales and Revenue Growth: Lead the business development process from prospecting to closing, ensuring sales targets and revenue goals are consistently met while effectively communicating the company’s value proposition.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to define and execute business development strategies, including long-term planning and market expansion.
Project Management: Oversee business development projects, ensuring timely, within-budget delivery, and work cross-functionally with teams like marketing, operations, and product to ensure smooth execution.
Reporting and Analytics: Track and report on business development activities, pipeline progress, and KPIs, providing regular updates to management on opportunities and performance.
People Management: Lead, mentor, and develop team members, driving performance, fostering professional growth, and creating a collaborative environment to support business objectives. Foster employee engagement, drive productivity, and ensure alignment with the company’s values and goals.
Client Relations: Build relationships with key clients, general contractors, and project owners as well as lead client meetings and negotiations to secure new contracts.
Execution & Collaboration: Ensure smooth handover of projects from sales to operations teams. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment on project requirements.
Reporting & Metrics: Track business development progress and project pipeline. Report performance metrics and opportunities to senior management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
5 – 6 years’ prior industry related business development experience or sales, with a track record of driving revenue growth and identifying new business opportunities.
At least 3+ years in a managerial role. Proven knowledge and execution of successful development strategies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Results-driven, innovative, people-oriented, and adaptable. Focused and goal oriented. Computer literate.
