Overview

Job Summary:
The dentist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and advising patients on various oral health issues. This includes providing preventive care, conducting regular check-ups, and performing procedures such as fillings, extractions, root canals, and cosmetic treatments. The dentist works closely with dental hygienists, assistants, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality dental care to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care:
a. Conduct thorough oral examinations to assess the condition of patients’ teeth, gums, and overall oral health.
b. Diagnose dental conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans.
c. Perform dental procedures, including cleanings, fillings, extractions, crowns, bridges, dentures, and root canals.
d. Provide preventive care, such as fluoride treatments, sealants, and oral hygiene advice.
e. Administer anesthesia and perform dental surgeries as required.
f. Educate patients on oral health best practices, diet, and preventive care.
g. Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

2. Professional Development:
a. Stay updated on the latest dental practices, techniques, and technologies.
b. Attend professional dental seminars and training as required.
c. Participate in continuing education to maintain a current and valid dental license.

3. Team Collaboration:
a. Work closely with dental hygienists, dental assistants, and office staff to ensure the smooth operation of the dental practice.
b. Coordinate care with specialists when necessary, such as orthodontists, periodontists, and oral surgeons.

Qualifications:

Education:
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.

Licensure:
Valid dental license

Experience:
Experience in a clinical setting is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
